WWE DEVELOPMENT FACILITIES
WWE DEVELOPMENT SCORE = 20 %
WWE has signed contracts from time to time with various promotions and has labeled them as DEVELOPMENT FACILITIES.
HERE IS THE WAY THE WWE DEVELOPMENT FACILITIES WORK
They are supposed to operate like farm teams in baseball.
WWE scouts experienced wrestlers who have been schooled and have 2 or more years actual wrestling experience.
If WWE likes you enough it will hire you and pay you and send you to its current development facility.
WWE does this because WWE needs backup wrestlers to move up to RAW and SMACKDOWN and ECW when some one gets hurt or is laid off or gets fired.
The WWE development facility fills this backup function by running shows where the backup wrestlers can practice and keep sharp and learn all the special requirements of WWE.
The training facility also runs a school for beginners and though they tell the beginners they will have a shot at WWE that is not true for several reasons:
1. They usually train beginners ONLY A FEW hours per week. They train you for 26 weeks. That is ONLY 52 Hours and is WAY TOO LITTLE
Unless you are trained at least four three hour sessions per
week you are wasting your time.
3. They suggest that their beginning students get promoted to WWE. That is not true.
4. Not one single beginner trainee ever went to WWE. The ones that do go to WWE were first hired by WWE FIRST and sent to practice.
5. Their TRAINERS ARE OLD SCHOOL: To them, you are just another MARK. A MARK is a person they target to screw you out of your money.
6. UNREASONABLE PRICE: They usually charge $500 to $1000 for 26 weeks. Sounds real good at first, except that you only get 2 hours of training so their price really would equal $6,000 if you went 4 days a week for a year, and that is terrible.
6. They say you will be SEEN by WWE people. That is the WORST thing that can possibly happen to you. You NEVER want to be seen until you are terrific. Remember you only get one chance at a first impression.
WWE assigns new "Development" companies from time to time. But do not be fooled. Their purpose is to work exclusively with wrestlers already hired by WWE and they are never allowed to let training of new students get in the way of their WWE people. As a result, new students pay money but do not receive adequate training.
OHIO VALLEY (OVW) had a contract with WWE to fullfill the functions that a farm team does for Baseball. BUT they were FIRED
DEEP SOUTH had a contract with WWE but was FIRED the week of April 15th 2007.
FLORIDA CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING is their newest facility and it is too early to see how it works out. But some early reports are not very promising.
